Alan joined Lawrence Grant in 1994 and became partner in 2001.
Alan is involved in all areas of general practice and specialises in valuations of business, due diligence and mergers and acquisitions.
Alan’s client portfolio includes local and overseas companies and individuals. He also has specialist knowledge of clients in the medical profession accumulating a wealth of experience in dealing with the specialist tax and compliance issues facing doctors, consultants and other medical professions.
His main focus is assisting individuals and corporate organisations in minimising their tax bills and providing strategic analysis and business development techniques in increasing revenue streams.
Alan continuously undertakes strategic planning for the firm, which has resulted in a large number of clients experiencing significant growth in their business.
He also resolves partnership and shareholder disputes as well as providing advice to clients and solicitors in dealing with matrimonial disputes.
In addition, Alan deals with both corporate and personal tax planning for UK and international clients and specialises in implementing onshore and offshore tax structures for clients by the utilisation of offshore trust and companies.
He has been assisting overseas clients in the last 16 years in obtaining the relevant visas to move into the UK by working closely with UK immigration lawyers.
Following the success of the firm in implementing a paperless system, the firm now offers clients an improved IT solution for their accounting and business needs.
Alan is the Global Chairperson of Business Development and Marketing Practice Group and is a member of the International Tax Practice Group and Immigration & Expatriate Services Practice Group of Geneva Group International.
Alan is also the trustee of the charity, BFIRST, which provides training in reconstructive surgery to surgeons in 3rd world countries.
