VAT payments due to HMRC - deferment ends today

Please note you cannot defer VAT payments for the VAT Returns covering the month / quarter end 31 May 2020 (payments due by 7 July 2020) and all following VAT Returns. Everything reverts back to normal as of today (1 July 2020).

VAT payments due to HMRC - deferment ends today

Direct debits to HMRC need to be reinstated if that was in place before and the following were the only allowable periods able to be deferred:

  • Quarterly and monthly VAT returns' payments for the periods ending in February, March and April
  • Payments on account due between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2020
  • Annual accounting advance payments due between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2020

If you are still suffering financially, you can contact HMRC for assistance and agree a 'time to pay', and are dealing with all businesses, who contact them, on a case by case basis:
