Parul Purohit

Portfolio Manager for Alan Rajah

"Over the years l have always focused on building long-standing professional relationships with my clients to provide a valued service."

I qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1996 and joined Lawrence Grant in 1998. With a career in audit and tax of 20 years, I have a breadth of experience in all aspects of financial reporting, audit and taxation (personal and corporate) dealing with both UK and international clients. Working as part of the international tax team I oversee the financial reporting and tax requirements of high net worth clients with offshore structures and investments, acting as a liaison with custodians, administrators and International banks.

I also focus on the audit and tax requirements of medium and large groups of companies operating in the care home industry and holding companies with foreign investments and foreign subsidiaries which are part of large groups.

My expertise

As Lawrence Grant’s Accounts & Tax Manager, I have diverse experience across a number of UK tax areas including:

  • Audits of medium and large sized entities
  • Consolidations
  • Personal Tax
  • Corporation Tax

The firm

People are the core of the business and it is therefore always my endeavour to develop members of staff in all aspects to provide a value added and efficient service for our clients. My main contribution to the firm has been nurturing and educating our younger team members and assisting them to progress their knowledge. I have been involved in the recruitment of new members of our team and fostering their integration into the Lawrence Grant firm.

Aside, from working with our internal team, I am actively involved in seminars and webinars where I can once again impart my knowledge and extensive understanding of the UK tax system.

Personal

In my personal time, I enjoy travelling with my husband, experiencing different cultures and cuisines. I also enjoy reading, watching films and socialising with friends and family.

What is your favourite book and why?

My favourite book is “The Monk who Sold His Ferrari”. The book teaches how to build a life that guarantees long lasting happiness and fulfilment. It enlightens you that focusing on building your inner life is more important than building your outer life.

What is your favourite film and why?

My favourite film is “The Blind side”. Based on a true story, the film reflects on how we should appreciate any privileges we have and to share with those less fortunate; and how we can make an unimaginable difference to someone’s life.

Who most inspires you?

My dad inspires me the most.
