Payroll Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Payroll Manager in all payroll duties for all Lawrence Grant clients to whom we strive to deliver an exceptional client payroll service.
  • To deliver client payrolls in a timely and accurate manner at all times whilst liaising with clients and partners accordingly.

Duties:

  • Be responsible for completion of payroll duties for all Lawrence Grant clients who have signed up for payroll services. The tasks could range from computation of weekly and monthly payroll, printing of payslips and forwarding to clients as well as informing them of their tax liability, completing returns, assisting clients with HMRC tax enquiries and other tax matters, and any other special assignments and/or ad-hoc projects as required by the partners.
  • Handle all aspects of processing client payrolls including ad-hoc queries from clients.
  • Provide advisory services to clients to ensure statutory compliance.
  • Ensure PAYE letters are sent quarterly and monthly to all clients.
  • Upon Partners instructions to set up new PAYE scheme for new clients.

Audit and Accounts and Tax Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Good technical skills in bookkeeping, tax, audit and accounts.
  • Be responsible for tasks which could range from accounts preparation (relating to Companies, Partnerships, LLP’s and sole traders), completion of personal and partnership tax returns and computations, assisting clients with HMRC tax enquiries and other tax matters, completing P11D returns and any other special assignments and/or ad-hoc projects as required by the managers/partners.
  • Review and completion of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLP and company accounts as well as income tax and corporation tax computations.
  • Completion of audits
  • Managing and dealing with staff matters including:
    • Supervision of staff
    • Develop and train seniors, semi-seniors & juniors
    • Undertake required training for all staff
    • Ensure that professional standards are maintained
  • Ensure that all assignments are completed to a high standard before passing them on for Manager review.
  • To act as primary contact for a portfolio of UK and international clients
  • Be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, and have excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Identify risk matters and selling opportunities
  • Able to work with and understand any accounting/bookkeeping software.
  • Liaise with practice manager on progress for all jobs and cross selling opportunities.
  • Control cost budgets, meet reporting timetables and prepare key client reporting documents.
  • Develop professional relationships with clients and within the firm.
  • Actively manage your self-development and continuing professional education.
  • Attend CPD courses or other professional courses as required by the firm.
  • Have a genuine interest in understanding your clients’ businesses with the drive to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Ensure IRIS Practice Management is kept up to date in respect of all your assignments.
  • Be able to work well both as part of a team and also unsupervised.
  • Be prepared to travel when required.

Semi Senior Accountant (Audit and Accounts)

Responsibilities:

Accounts preparation

  • Small limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships, pension schemes
  • Prepare planning sections of work programme in accordance with office guidelines
  • Prepare and monitor budgets
  • Liaise with clients for information gathering purposes
  • Settle queries with seniors
  • Prepare completion section work programme including paper or electronic disclosure checklists
  • Review with seniors and complete file including reporting pack

Bookkeeping

  • Write up cash books, sales day books, purchase day books for limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Prepare accounts from incomplete records or client trial balances (Sage, Quickbooks, etc)
  • Liaise with clients for information gathering purposes
  • Settle queries with seniors
  • Review with seniors and complete file including reporting pack

Audit

  • Internal and external audits
  • Fieldwork testing of bank, sales, purchases, including stock take attendance and other site verifications

Tax

  • Prepare personal tax returns
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and returns
  • Prepare P11ds

General

  • Occasional advisory work – business plans, profit and cash flow forecasts
  • Deal with correspondence from clients
  • Review work of juniors, resolve technical queries and ensure the file is complete and all review points addressed before passed to the manager
  • Attendance at in house and external professional training courses
  • Be aware of other LG services and products which may be appropriate to clients
